Sidewalk to Nowhere (RANT)

Image
I'm a good fan of riding bikes. I try to ride as much as I can, even if time is a bit short. So when I'm rushing to get back to my dorm, house or wherever I'm going to, I hate when I run across these. Feast your eyes on this fucker. This is the Sidewalk to Nowhere. These guys, along with Roundabouts, tend to throw a major wrench in the works, blocking me from maintaining good time when I'm in a rush. You may be thinking, "Shouldn't he give himself more time?". Well I've thought of that, but sometimes I lose track of time, or I misunderestimate the travel time (That's for emphasis, that's how bad it gets sometimes.) to a destination. I've ran into three of these, and all three times I've arrived back where I belong by the skin of my teeth. They may not be as common as Roundabouts, but their rarity makes it much more frustrating when I do encounter them. At least one of them is nearby a McDonald's, so I can gain back energy for

Poem For and Inspired by Emily

I wrote this poem at my friends wake in around 15 minutes. I think it is pretty good for having been written in such a short period of time, and I thought it decent enough to post.                    Emily Quiet, silent still of night. Lying there in the light. Thursday morning, coming soon, world wakes up to the gloom. One will not, I'm sad to say, live to see the coming day. Though she will be gone, from the world we know, the end of the seed He hath sewn. No pain nor suffering she will know, as to Heaven she will go. One day we will meet her there, though we don't know when or where. Until then we must say, that on her dying day, though our Hearts wounded there, and give us such a scare, we shall never never never forget, one who taught us how to live. Rest in peace, a shooting star, to remind us who we are. That what we say and what we do, everything that pulls us through, was all inspired by you
